Some RM 110 million worth of properties were destroyed in the fire during the whole of last year compared to RM 91 million the year before.
The Director of Johor Fire and Rescue department, Abdul Ghani Daud said this during the annual departmental gathering and handing over of fire engine ceremony at Larkin, yesterday.
Eleven utility vehicles were received and will be distributed to other fire department offices in Johor which includes a RM470,000 Breathing Apparatus Tander Vehicle which will be allocated to Johor Bahru fire department, three units of Rapid Rescue Vehicle Isuzu D-Max for road accidents rescue mission will be distributed to Johor Bahru, Kluang and Tangkak fire department respectively.
Another eight units of Proton Arena valued at RM93,700 each will be handed over to Fire and Rescue Volunteers Association in Layang Layang, Air Hitam, Muar, Kawasan Rukun Tetangga in Sungai Rengit, Air Hitam, Paloh, Parit Sikom and Kangkar Pulai accordingly.
