Melaka, which has a popular river cruise in the city, is to introduce a rural river cruise soon.

Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen today announced an RM800,000 allocation to get a cruise going on the Sungai Rambai near here.

“We have decided to call it the Rural River Cruise because it will pass through villages and tourists will see jungle, swamps, birds, animals and orchards,” she said after launching the pamphlet for the Rambai River Cruise near here.

The allocation, which was for two years, would also be used to build facilities such as a hall and walkway at the cruise boarding and alighting point, she said.
