Miss Cosmopolitan World 2019 pageant, now in its 5th year, kicked off with a press conference at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, as the official hotel venue sponsor, and the grand final to take place on 25 October.
This year’s edition of Miss Cosmopolitan World pageant holds promises of even greater show than ever.
“Last year’s edition had been a blast with beauty queens from 30 countries, including Malaysia, but this year we are planning to bring in 40 countries for the Miss Cosmopolitan World 2019 finals, and include countries that have not participated before.
“We’ll have big surprise in store for everyone,” said Miss Cosmopolitan World founder Amelia Liew.
Also present at the event were reigning Miss Cosmopolitan World Malaysia 2018 Vivienna Alfred, Miss Cosmopolitan World director Steve Wong, Tourism Selangor event and focus head Mohammad Faroul Mustaffa and Aforadio CEO William Lim.
The event is supported by Tourism Selangor.
The pageant finalists will be taken to visit new tourism destinations, being one of the pageant activities. They will also visit the orang asli village as part of the corporate social responsibility activity in collaboration with Rotary Club Bangsar.
With October as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the pageant finalists will help raise awareness for breast cancer.
At the grand finals, the pageant finalists will make a grand entrance to the ballroom hand-in-hand with Malaysian children dressed in costumes of the countries they represent.
Last year’s top three winners will be here in Kuala Lumpur to crown the 2019 winners. The current titleholder is Soyeon Lim from South Korea who was crowned on the 19th of October 2018.
All the international beauties chosen to represent their countries in the Miss Cosmopolitan World 2019 pageant will be announced soon.
Miss Cosmopolitan World is a Malaysia home-grown international beauty pageant hosted for the first time since 2015 in Kuala Lumpur by founder Amelia Liew, a beauty queen herself who represented Malaysia in the Miss Asia 2011 pageant in Hong Kong. The pageant aims to promote Malaysia to the world.
