CJMYPrime Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was the recipient of Anugerah Instafamous Inspirasi, a special award presented at
Anugerah Instafamous by hurr.tv held at Vogue Lounge, Menara Suezcap, Kuala Lumpur last night.
In his pre-recorded acceptance speech shown on screen, YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir said, “Anugerah Instafamous Inspirasi was presented to me on the basis of my leadership, dedication and contribution to the people of Malaysia, as well as hard work. There is no short cut to hard work. If I can be a good example, Alhamdulillah. If we love our country, we must
be willing to work hard to rebuild our country.”
YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir added, “Today, information and news can be accessed anywhere and quickly with a mobile phone, and anyone can become a ‘broadcasting station’. It is important for us to practice responsible behavior so that information is delivered accurately, correctly
and not ‘fake news’. I would like to thank hurr.tv for this special award.”

Entering its second year, special awards were also presented to eight other personalities who demonstrated their integrity and commitment in their respective fields. The special award recipients are:

Each of the special award recipients received trophies, a one-night stay at Belum Rainforest Resort and shoes sponsored by Asics. Anugerah Instafamous also featured nine other categories for Instafamous or Influencers based on votes by fans and followers. Here are the winners for each category:

Winners in each category brought home trophies, watches by MEM Watches and shoes by Asics. Meanwhile, three categories received additional prizes: Paling Bro (a smart watch sponsored by MyMotor), Paling On-Point (dUCk Cosmetics products worth RM2,000) and Paling Fit (a one year free membership at Babel Fit).
This time around, fans got to vote for their favourite Instafamous via the hurr.tv app that is available for download from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. For the first time ever, Anugerah Instafamous also introduced a special category, MUCA Instafamous hosted by facial and skin care brand, MUCA where the winner was selected based on the most likes on Instagram. Singer Sarah Suhairi emerged winner of this special category and brought home a complete set of MUCA skincare range and a Huawei P30 smartphone.
Anugerah Instafamous was hosted by popular radio host Radin with a 90s fashion theme for the evening. Upon arrival, guests were ushered to the rooftop of Vogue Lounge where they had the opportunity to pose for photos, enjoy some light refreshments and participate in some interactive activities by sponsors of the night.
The awards show kicked off at 8.45pm and was shown live on hurr.tv’s website and mobile app. Along with the awards presentation, guests were entertained with performances by Ismail Izzani, Sarah Suhairi and hurr.tv in-house talents, Aqeesh Aleeya and Yazmin Aziz.
The main sponsors of Anugerah Instafamous are integrated vehicle ownership portal, MyMotor by MYEG and facial and skincare brand, MUCA. hurr.tv was launched in 2016 and now has over 63 million views and over 400 thousand followers on YouTube. Meanwhile, 1.1 million users have visited the hurr.tv website with over 2.7M views. hurr.tv’s Facebook has 26 thousand followers while its Instagram has over 123 thousand followers.
