Nestle Malaysia announced the first 150 weekly winners of its latest and largest nationwide contest, the ‘Peraduan Nestle Gaji Seumur Hidup’ or Nestle Salary for Life Contest.
Walking away with cash prizes of RM500 each, totalling RM75,000, the winners from across Malaysia are aged between 22 – 70 with diverse backgrounds.
The contest which runs from February 14 till April 30, 2020 saw tremendous response from the public with over 220,000 entries received to date.
The contest offers two lucky Grand Prize winners a ‘Salary for Life’ of RM3,000 every month, and 10 consolation prize winners a ‘Salary for a Year’ of RM3,000 every month. There are cash prizes of RM500 given out to 50 winners every week throughout the contest’s 11-week duration
With these first 150 winners, the dream starts to materialise ahead of the announcement of the 10 consolation prize winners of ‘Salary for a Year’ and the final event in June 2020 to award the ‘Salary for Life’ to two lucky grand prize winners.
Accountant Ravi Kumar A/L Govindaroju, 34, from Rawang, had submitted just one entry for the contest and much to his surprise was selected as one of the weekly winners. He said he would use the prize money to finance his monthly expenses which include caring for his mother who has diabetes.
“My dream is to be able to purchase a house of my own one day and I will definitely be submitting more entries to be in the running to win the ‘Salary for Life’ grand prize,” he said.
Another weekly winner computer programmer Nurdiana Binti Haji Bakri, 37, from Ipoh, Perak, submitted close to 100 entries as she thought that will give her plenty of chance to win. She was thrilled to win not only one, but two weekly prizes.
“If I win a Salary for Life grand prize, it will certainly help with our children’s education as there is nothing more important than to see our children succeed. Besides, it will help on my journey to perform Hajj with my family,” she said.
Shopowner Teng Wei Kiong, 40, from Sarikei, Sarawak said, “After learning about the contest, I submitted about 20 entries by buying Kit Kat, Milo and Nescafe products which are some of my family’s favourites. Having won the weekly prize makes me very content and I hope to be able to win the ‘Salary for Life’ grand prize and utilise it for my children’s education.”
To take part in the contest, consumers only need to purchase a minimum of RM15 worth of participating Nestle products in a single receipt and answer a simple question.
