KUALA LUMPUR – FWD Takaful Berhad today announced the MOH FWD MY Heroes Fund initiative for Ministry of Health (MOH) frontliners in recognition and appreciation of their role in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

FWD Takaful Berhad today announced RM5 million special fund, aptly named as MOH FWD MY Heroes Fund. This is part of our initiative for Ministry of Health (MOH) frontliners in recognition and appreciation of their role in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Salim Majid Zain, FWD Takaful’s Chief Executive Officer said, “We wish to express our gratitude to all healthcare frontliners for their admirable sacrifice and patience while putting the patients’ needs first to curb the spread of COVID-19. At FWD Takaful, our vision is to change the way people feel about Takaful and therefore we’re grateful for the opportunity to show our support to fellow MOH frontliners and their immediate family through MOH FWD MY Heroes Fund during this challenging period, especially those working in the frontlines and work effortlessly to provide for a safer Malaysia, as they face a higher risk of exposure to the virus.”

The six months complimentary benefits period starts from 1 April 2020 until the special fund is exhausted. All MOH frontliners will be entitled to a compassionate benefit upon death due to COVID- 19 or other causes. We’ll also provide a relief allowance if the MOH frontliner is hospitalised due to COVID-19, and this relief allowance will be extended to their immediate family members too.
