Thomas TanA month after donating 60,000 pair of Bata shoes to the Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM), Bata Malaysia made another generous donation of 60,000 pairs of Bata shoes in appreciation of the services that the healthcare workers have been providing for the country in facing the Covid-19 pandemic.
The shoes come in a variety and suitable for the whole family including men’s shoes, ladies shoes, children shoes and school shoes with an estimated value of RM 3.6million
“Bata acknowledges the contribution of healthcare workers who worked tirelessly during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in April and May. The healthcare workers not only had to put their lives at risk by being at the frontline, but also sacrificed precious time with their families,.
“We are extremely grateful to every single healthcare worker for their contribution to the nation, and now in return, we hope that our donation of shoes will bring cheer to them and their families,” said Bata Malaysia managing director Ajay Ramachandran.
In total, Bata Malaysia has given 120K pairs – 60K to police force and another 60K to healthcare workers. This is all part of Bata global 1 million pairs commitment.
“As a global leader in shoes, Bata has always felt a special responsibility towards all its stakeholders including the communities in which it operates across countries and regions. This is why Bata commits to donate 1 million pairs of shoes to frontliners and their families globally; the front-liners fighting the Covid-19 with admirable courage and dedication every day,” added Ajay.
The global donation will impact a number of countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
