Frontline healthcare workers often work longer hours than usual under great pressure and without having a break or adequate meals to deliver essential care during this Covid-19 pandemic.

Expressing gratitude for the dedicated efforts of front liners for their service to the community, Nestle Malaysia recently donated KitKat bars to over 12,000 healthcare workers in six hospitals in the Klang Valley.

The KitKat Break bus delivered the products to healthcare workers at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang, Hospital KPJ Selangor, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Serdang, University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and Hospital Sungai Buloh. This included KitKat product variants like KitKat Milk Chocolate and KitKat Senses.

Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad chief executive officer Juan Aranols said the donation was to show appreciation to Covid-19 frontliners.

“At Nestle Malaysia, we have been supporting the effort of frontliners throughout the pandemic. We want again to acknowledge and show appreciation on the tireless efforts from healthcare front liners, who continue to play a critical role in the fight against the current Covid-19 wave. Their dedication is humbling and this is a small way to showcase our support and encouraging frontliners to keep up their spirits,” Aranols said.

Nestle Malaysia business executive officer for confectionary business Frederic Porchet said the group understood the value of taking a break from work especially when the frontline healthcare workers facing this critical time were working long hours under a great deal of pressure.

“We hope that this small gesture from KitKat will bring some joy to our frontliners and help them take a short break for themselves, as they continue to do their utmost to contain the spread of this pandemic,” Porchet said.
