Family shares success story of transferring to US Universities

Over 200 of MCKL alumni from the American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP) have successfully transferred and subsequently graduated from prominent universities across the United States of America by the end of last year.

As endorsed by the Wong Family, the three sisters were alumni of MCKL’s ADTP and have  successfully gained admission to the University of Toledo, Ohio.

The eldest of them, Deborah Wong who has graduated magna cum laude in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Counseling shared her experience saying “I wouldn’t have picked another programme because the quality of  people you meet in MCKL and learn from are amazing. I was constantly encouraged and challenged  to do better.”

Her sister, Sophia Wong who also underwent the ADTP simultaneously and transferred to the same university has successfully completed her studies with a Bachelor of Science in  Biology with an Ecology & Organismal Biology Concentration.

Sophia who was surprised by the  preparation process for her transfer said, “Workshops about university and scholarships applications were frequently held during the semesters to inform and better prepare me for future  search of related topics.”

Two years after kicking off their tertiary education with MCKL’s ADTP, their younger sister, Phoebe Wong, joined the bandwagon when she enrolled for ADTP at MCKL. Going through her journey in MCKL, Phoebe extended her appreciation saying, “The process for applying to study abroad is very tedious but I am thankful to have the support of the course advisor, Ms Kellie Ong who constantly guided me”.

Proud about their children’s success, Samuel Wong Kah Hean and Dea Clara Anastasia shared a few  words for school leavers and parents saying “MCKL is the best place if you want good education at an affordable fee. This college is indeed dedicated to training Malaysians with good education so that they can be successful wherever they go.”

The ADTP which was first introduced at MCKL in 2014, has a robust partnership with over 60 universities across the US and has gained strong recognition among Malaysian youths seeking to study in the US over the  years.

The ADTP is a flexible credit transfer programme that gives students a seamless transition to  universities across the United States to explore a wide range of courses from various fields.

MCKL’s  ADTP students will complete 24-65 credits hours with the college, while the remainder of their credit  hours will be completed in a US university of their choice before launching into their career paths.
