Walkabout Asia, which will be held in Langkawi, has changed the dates of the Walk the Doc film festival and competition to August 22 and ending on August 24, 2022.
The submission deadline has also been extended to July 11, 2022. Initially, the festival was slated to be held from May 23 to May 26, 2022.
The online travel channel, which shares impressive stories from around Asia through micro-documentaries, has called on all aspiring filmmakers and documentary enthusiasts to showcase their stories.
Finalists will be invited to attend the festival and have their submissions screened in Langkawi. They will also be allowed to participate in workshops and talks with experienced filmmakers and broadcasters from the Asia and Pacific region.
Accommodation will be provided for the finalists; however, travelling costs to and from the event location will not be covered.
To join, those interested must submit films or factual content in the form of feature documentaries and/or micro/short documentaries that focus on one of the three main themes: Nature, Environment and Travel.
Submission is open to anyone from anywhere and can be in any language. There is no submission fee to enter, and submitted works must not be published before 2017.
There are three categories which are Feature Documentary (up to 30 minutes), Micro Documentary (up to 6 minutes) and Special LADA Category (Short documentaries on stories from and about Langkawi that are under 10 minutes)
