MySejahtera, contact tracing mobile application, has changed over the past year to become more than a Covid-related tool since the pandemic restrictions have been relaxed in Malaysia.
With the recent update announced on July 16, the MySejahtera 2.0 which includes a new design and more health features, has taken the app one step further.
MySejahtera stated on its official Facebook page that the new UI and features has been introduced with the intend to help users keep track of issues related to their health.
New design, new features
A first glance at the new design reveals that the home menu contains six submenus: Traveller, Infectious Disease Tracker, Helpdesk, Manage Dependents, Locate Health Facilities, and More. In addition, the app includes two new health features: Health screening record and Children immunisation record.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Health (MOH), screening records from government clinics will also be displayed under The National Health Screening Initiative.
“For those undergoing health screening conducted by agencies such as ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd (PHCorp) via PeKa B40 programme, Social Security Organisation (Socso) via Health Screening Programme (HSP), National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) and others would be shown soon,“ said the statement.
It added that information on height, weight, BMI, blood type, health reports, lab test outcomes, and immunisation records will be accessible under this module.
Individuals who undergo independent health screenings or receive immunisations at private medical facilities may also have their records uploaded by the centre.
Upcoming features
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin stated on Twitter that MySejahtera will be adding additional health features in the near future, including users’ blood donation records as well as the digital ‘pink book,’ or mother and child health record.
In the near future, MySejahtera intends to provide a range of health services, including health trends, health appointments, teleconsultation, self-health screening input, organ donation, prescription of medication and more.
MySejahtera was introduced on April 20, 2020, when the nation was first hit by the pandemic. It served as a one-stop application to make it easier for users to get information and monitor Covid-19.
It is no longer necessary to scan a QR code using MySejahtera to enter any premises as of May 1 this year, as the country transitioned to an endemic phase.
The MySejahtera application can now be updated through the Apple App Store (IOS users) and Google Playstore (Android users).
