Many spectators were moved to tears watching Abdul Aziz Ya’acob coming to rescue his nephew Nik Mohd Adhar.

The 22-year-old Nik Mohd Adhar had a fever and fainted during the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Officers Day parade said UMNO youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki on his Facebook post.

Nik refers to Abdul Aziz Ya’acob as his father, who raised him since he was young after the death of his parents.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who was at the event, said at first he thought Abdul Aziz would carry his nephew out of the parade.

But he lifted, held him on the spot and didn’t let him go, posted Alexander on his Facebook page.

The selfless act moved many to tears, including myself, added Alexander.

Nik Mohd Adhar is a Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs enforcement officer based in Tawau, Sabah.

In an interview with Sinar Harian, Nik said he lost his parents when he was still a baby.

“My mother died when I was three months old, and my father died when I was seven,” said Nik to Sinar Harian after the parade.

Nik, who hails Tumpat, Kelantan, said his uncle Abdul Aziz Ya’acob and aunt Rosmawati Ismail raised him as their own.
