KL Tower lit up with the Indian flag tricolour to commemorate the 75th Indian Independence day yesterday night witnessed by a group of Indian citizens.

KL Tower lit up with the Indian flag tricolour to commemorate the 75th Indian Independence day yesterday night.

As the tricolour illuminated the tower, a small group of Indian citizens gathered for a photo opportunity and to celebrate the momentous event.

Apart from KL Tower, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur paid tribute by illuminating the DBKL Tower 1 with tricolour.

The Indian flag is colloquially known as tricolour.

The colours of the Indian national flag are saffron, white and green, with a Dharma Chakra in the middle.

The colour saffron indicates the strength and courage of the country. The white colour portrays the peace and truth in the middle of the flag. The green shows the fertility, growth and auspiciousness of the land.

Many countries worldwide took the opportunity to illuminate their buildings and monuments in tricolours.

Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, illuminated the building with the Indian flag colours yesterday night and posted a video on its social media.

Meanwhile, the iconic World Trade Centre displayed the tricolour on the eve of August 15 to commemorate India’s Independence day.

Finally, the Sydney Opera House in Australia also illuminated the building.

To commemorate India’s 75 years of Independence, Indian embassies held various activities for their citizens living abroad.

Indian High Commission in Malaysia organised an event for Indian citizens living in Malaysia.
