Sweet home completed, finally

All of them were once stuck in a similar quandary, and finally they shared the same joy of getting their long-awaited houses.

House buyers of Sunway Lagoon Perdana and Saujana Puchong can finally put their chins up as they were given the keys of their once abandoned properties.

About 110 purchasers of single-storey houses in Saujana Puchong yesterday marked an end to their daunting wait as Selangor housing exco Iskandar Abdul Samad handed over the house keys to them.

Their dream homes, located at phase 5B, were once left in an uncertain state when they were told the then developer was unable to continue the project that should have been completed in 2005.

However, following the state administration change in 2008, a task force was setup by the new Selangor government to revive all abandoned property developments in the state by hiring new contractors.

In July and October respectively, Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh and Iskandar announced that Lagoon Perdana and Saujana Puchong developments were close to completion.

Yesterday, while officiating the key handover ceremony, Iskandar stressed that his exco will continue to monitor each revived project to ensure the quality of houses are not compromised during the process.

Meanwhile some 1052 purchasers of Lagoon Perdana apartments too shared the joy with their Saujana Puchong counterparts.

It was reported that a purchaser took a 20-hours flight from Canada to Kuala Lumpur specially to attend the key handover ceremony of Block 1, 3 and 8 of Lagoon Perdana.

However, some 337 purchasers of block 7 are still excluded as the contractor is unable to resume construction of the block due to its weak foundation.
