The Festival of Wings is an annual event organized to promote the importance of the birds as natural indicator of planet Earth’s health.
It promotes awareness of the environment and is a premier eco-tourism destination in Kuala Selangor. This year, the event is special as it is also MNS 70th Anniversary Celebration.
Look up to the sky; watch out for our feathered friends at the Festival of Wings 2010!! There will be lots of activities for you and your family to participate in.

DRAWING & COLOURING CONTEST
Contestant will sketch their illustrations on drawing paper and color. The competition will start in August and closing date is before 10th October 2010.
Theme : Bird Conservation
Participation : Local Primary And Secondary School
Fee : RM 1 per pax
*Winners will be notified by phone and the drawings will be exhibited during the event
ALTINGSBURG LIGHTHOUSE RUN
While running is commonly related to your health, it is also good way to enjoy the fresh air as well as nature. During the run, you will be able to hear, if not see, a number of animals around you, mostly birds. The famous Lighthouse will also be open to the public.

TALKS ON MANGROVE AND BIRDS
Ever wonder what makes a bird, bird? Or what is so special about mangrove forest? Experts and experience speakers will give talks on the subject accompanied by attractive slide shows. There will also be Q&A sessions. These sessions are free of charge.

BIRD WATCHING
Ever wondered what is so fascinating about birds that they draw tremendous attention from people. This activity will introduce and equip you with the basic info and skills for you to go out and birdwatch yourself. Watch beautiful and rare birds of the sea.

MANGROVE TOUR & REPLANTING
The aim of this activity is to conserve the various species of mangroves and restore deteriorated areas to its former glory, as well as exposing the real relationship between human and nature. By joining this event, you can be sure that will gain valuable and great experience.

BIRD EXHIBITION
The exhibition aims to enhance people’s awareness about the migratory birds and local birds, its relationship with the mangroves. Come and learn how local & international organizations manage wildlife and nature.
Attire
Feel free to wear t-shirts and short pants, but please avoid wearing bright colored t-shirts. Sport or outdoor shoes are more comfortable to wear during event.
HOW TO GET HERE :
By Car : If you are planning to drive from Kuala Lumpur use the Sungai Buloh (Route 54) or if you are coming through the North – South PLUS Highway, exit at the Sungai Buloh or the Rawang turn-off and follow the road signs.
By Bus : Take Selangor Bus no. 141 from platform 24 at the Puduraya Bus Station in Kuala Lumpur. Tickets can be bought on the bus. Departure every 30 minutes starting from 6.30am. From Klang Bus Station, take Transnational Bus no. 156 or Cityliner Bus no. 100.
