Malaysia’s Top 30 Bars for 2022 revealed

The Top 30 bars in Malaysia were recently announced at the inaugural Malaysia’s Top 30 Bar Awards 2022 final gala, held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

The search began earlier this year with the nominations of 220 bars across Peninsular Malaysia, from which 100 were shortlisted.

A panel made up of industry professionals then assessed the list and narrowed it down to 50 bars. The final top 30 bars in Malaysia were selected through a poll of industry experts, bar enthusiasts, and influencers. Judging took place between July and September this year

“Heartiest congratulations to all who have made the list, which was a daunting task for the selection committee (albeit) a significant result to prove that the F&B industry in the country is progressing,” said Malaysia’s Top 30 founder Alvin Sinclair in a statement.

Malaysia’s Top 30 award programme was introduced this year to elevate the food and beverage industry by assisting operators in marketing their outlets.

Alvin added that there are exciting plans in the works for the top 30 bars which include beer masterclasses, guest shifts, and exclusive events.

“Upon making the Top 30 list, all bars will benefit from continuity right after the award ceremony,” Alvin added.

Malaysia’s Top 30 also presented a RM15,000 donation to Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) in an effort to give back to the community. YCK CEO Ananti Raj was presented with a mock cheque at the awards ceremony.

Malaysia’s Top 30 Bar Awards was presented by Chivas Regal with other partners including Martell, Jameson, Heineken, Guinness, Absolut, Beefeater, The Glenlivet, Lillet, GH Mumm, Perrier, Monin, Fiji Water and Umai.
