A police spokesperson said in the 5.45am incident, 19-year-old Foo Hui Theng was travelling along with four others in a car heading towards Kuala Lumpur from Melaka.

Initial investigations revealed that the car had broken down and was moving slowly on the third lane to stop in the emergency lane when a trailer suddenly crashed into the back of the vehicle.

Foo died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries.  Personnel from the Senawang Fire and Rescue Department took about 10 minutes to extricate the victim from the back seat.

The car’s driver Liu Ah Gan, 55, suffered serious head and leg injuries and was being treated at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, he said.

Liu’s wife, Tan Siew Neo, 49, their son and another teenage girl sustained minor injuries.
