Coway will host its annual run themed “Unite to Create” in a hybrid concept. Its virtual run is currently taking full swing till 6th November will be creating its first-ever NFT art pieces this year.

Participants will meet for the on-ground run on 6th November at Dataran Putrajaya, where a huge NFT artwork will be collaboratively created for charity by the on-ground runners and the team from home-grown creative art brand Loka Made.

A huge canvas will be placed on-site, in which the runners will unite to paint the Malaysian sky colourful. It will be a stencil-style canvas art for the participants to paint freely in any style they wish on the blank area. Once it is filled up, it will reveal a landscape comprising various Malaysian landmarks.

“I’m ecstatic to work on this NFT artwork alongside the on-ground runners, thanks to Coway Run! Staying true to Malaysia’s unity, where we live in a beautiful multicultural country, we lend a hand to those in need, regardless of creed – and that’s the beauty of this NFT piece which will be auctioned off for a cause,” said Chong Fei Giap, Co-founder and Creative Director of Loka Made.

Coway Run 2022 aims to reinforce unity amongst Malaysians by bringing various individuals together to contribute to the cause actively.

Proceeds from all of the NFT artworks created will be going to charitable organisations such as EcoKnights, MERCY Malaysia, Nicol David Organisation, Reef Check Malaysia, and Coway’s very own CSR initiative – Happy Water Project, which continues to provide access to clean drinking water to the Orang Asli and underprivileged communities.

Datuk Nicol David, founder of the Nicol David Organisation and the former world squash champion, said, “I am pleased to share with you that this year, we are collaborating with Coway Malaysia for Coway Run 2022, themed “Unite to Create”.

This is a hybrid run where you can run both virtually and physically. What’s interesting about this hybrid run is that Coway will be co-creating their first-ever NFT art piece with the on-ground runners.

Coway Run 2022 also provides a platform for avid runners to create GPS run trails, and the most creative or unique creations will be turned into NFT artworks by a few local NFT artists. All NFT artworks will then be sold off, and the proceeds will be channelled towards a few charitable organisations, which I believe will aid many communities in need.”

Participants who registered for the virtual run will be able to map out and track their running routes using Strava, a GPS tracking app. The GPS run trails will be reinterpreted and redesigned into four unique NFT creations by four other local NFT artists, namely Alvin Koay, Book Of Lai, Grey Z and Lakarumbi.
