Step into a world of cubes, symmetrical shapes and boundless pixels as iNYALA brings to you its latest iteration of a new media art exhibition, put together by a team of digital and music artists, architects, university students and engineers.

Held from 26 November to 25 December 2022 at Fahrenheit88, the exhibition features 17 cutting-edge art installations in LED display cubes that will transport the audiences to a space of sight and sound, reimagined through the intersection of art, technology and data.

The digital artworks, composed of data and algorithms, explore Malaysia’s journey of progress toward achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations General Assembly (UN-GA).

The SDGs are a comprehensive set of goals to end poverty, protect our planet and improve living conditions of the global population, now and into the future.

Through the curated multi-sensory art experiences, iNYALA 2022 encourages visitors to navigate between real-life data that reveals the past and present, and collectively imagine new ways of thinking and doing to transform the world we live in.

The iNYALA 2022 edition features 13 artworks resulting from an open call to the local higher education institutions in August 2022 as well as three dedicated canvases to showcase works from the International and Malaysian artists.

A synchronised hourly multimedia show, involving all 17 art installations accompanied by music, will be staged to present an interactive audio- visual experience that is akin to a world of beautiful possibilities when the interlinked Global Goals are achieved.

Sprawled across the Ground Atrium of Fahrenheit88 mall, the spatial experience is designed by internationally renowned artist and architect – Jun Ong to provide a spontaneous, interactive and engaging experience beyond the standard art exhibition. iNYALA 2022 has also adopted innovative approaches that prioritise sustainable exhibition design and construction with 75% of the materials used for the show are recyclable materials including raw cardboards and refurbished LED panels.

The iNYALA 2022 is spearheaded by Helio Media, in collaboration with Filamen. It is supported by Tourism Malaysia and made possible by Fahrenheit88, NovaStar, Nextrend, De Carton, LIE Design, Inner Voices Productions, Jun Ong and RUBIX.

Established in 2019, iNYALA aims to be a progressive platform that champions the new media arts in Malaysia by nurturing young talents, connecting communities and creating dialogue about technology, sustainability and art. For more information about iNYALA, visit http://www.inyala.my
