VISTA Eye Specialist (VISTA) is teaming up with Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems AG (Ziemer), a top Ophthalmic company based in Switzerland, to organize an event on February 22nd.

Surgeons worldwide will participate in various activities highlighting the Ziemer LDV Z8 Femtosecond Laser Platform, one of the most advanced global laser platforms.

This event is the first of its kind in Malaysia and will take place ahead of the 38th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress in Kuala Lumpur on February 23rd. More than 50 eye surgeons from more than ten countries are expected to attend this demonstration.

Ziemer’s Sales Director, Dominique Van Herzeele, states that their partnership with VISTA focuses on education and provides aspiring doctors with hands-on experience to understand the Z8 technology.

The collaboration is named the Ziemer Experience Center with VISTA, which showcases the Z8 low-energy laser platform. The Z8 is the only laser platform in the world capable of performing various femto laser applications, such as Flap Creation for LASIK, Femtosecond Assisted Laser Cataract Surgery (FLACS), Corneal Lenticule Extraction (CLEAR), and several other cornea applications.

The experience centre will enable visiting surgeons to witness live LASIK and FLACS surgeries performed by VISTA’s surgeons. They will also get a chance to experience CLEAR in the on-site wet lab.

In addition, presentations and a panel discussion on these advanced technologies will be held. Experienced Z8 surgeons and users from India, Singapore, Korea, and VISTA’s Medical Director, Dr Aloysius Joseph Low, and Chief Ophthalmic Surgeon, Dr Alan Koh, will share their experience in presentations and expert panel discussions.

Dr Aloysius says that the presentations will provide visiting surgeons with tips and pearls of wisdom acquired by the speakers over the years.

This knowledge will help doctors to shorten their learning curve and deliver better results, leading to better patient outcomes. VISTA’s Chief Growth Officer, Grace Heng, adds that the presentations and the panel discussion will be streamed live on Zoom and Facebook, enabling more surgeons worldwide to participate and learn.

The aim is to provide a better understanding of the latest technologies to more doctors to help people worldwide improve their vision and live life with clarity.
