Vogue PR and Knowhere Bangsar hosted an event to commemorate International Women’s Day 2023 and embrace equity

VoguePR, a public relations consultancy firm that specializes in brand and lifestyle communications, and Knowhere Bangsar, a Muslim-friendly and Malaysia’s Top 30 bar restaurant hosted an event, “Celebrating The New Age Woman” over the weekend to commemorate International Women’s Day 2023. 

The event focused on the importance of the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, #EmbraceEquity. More than 80 guests attended the event to strengthen connections, and to empower and engage more deeply with one another. Guests who attended were given a bouquet of roses by Lotus Flower Gift and a few vouchers sponsored by Knowhere Bangsar, Skin Master Medi-Spa and iSihat Dental KL.

Knowhere Bangsar served delectable and flavorsome canapes and two sets of drinks for each guest upon guest arrival. The event began with a welcoming message from one of Malaysia’s most notable hosts, Revathy Mariappan, and an opening speech by Sumitra Venugopal, the founder of VoguePR.

Prominent speakers from diversified backgrounds spoke on their triumphs and hurdles and success stories throughout the event. The esteemed speakers were Dr Ravinpreet Kaur, Co-Founder of Skin Master Aesthetics Medispa, Jelisa Shanjana, TV presenter, Kiranjeet Kaur, Director of Marketing & Comms of W Kuala Lumpur, Shweta Sekhon, Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 and Jovani Reddy Chinniah, Managing Partner of Jovani & Co Chartered Accountants.

Embracing equity

This event was conducted to increase public awareness about the value of women and equity in society. Sumitra Venugopal, the Founder of VoguePR said, “This year, the main concern is embracing the diversity that women have from one another, making carefully chosen tools to address problems. The theme also focuses on accepting equity as the first step towards achieving equality and supporting women and all genders on the challenges they face.” VoguePR had the privilege of promoting equality and recognizing diversity alongside a remarkable group of influential women.

It was an inspiring and fantastic experience to have these strong women at the event. The event was a defining moment for society to recognise the essential contribution that women contribute to the community.
