Miss International Malaysia Semenanjung 2023 (MIMS 2023) has been announced as the first-ever Semenanjung edition by the Miss International Organization counterpart – Miss International Malaysia organization (MIM). This initiative aims to showcase Malaysia’s rich and unique mix of diverse backgrounds, arts, and culture through fashion, beauty, and entertainment.
Modernizing the concept of traditional pageants, MIMS 2023 will include an exclusive YouTube series that will showcase the contestants’ everyday lives, pageant training, and patriotic spirit. The top five candidates chosen from the series will compete in the national Miss International Malaysia 2023 pageant on 29 July 2023.
Y.M Dato’ Paduka Seri Hasnizal Haji Hassan, the representative of the Miss International Malaysia organization, said, “This event will give an opportunity to our future beauty queens of different cultures to share, educate, and learn from one another’s experiences and showcase their respective backgrounds from all across the country.”
SunStrong Entertainment has partnered with MIM as the Title Presenter for MIMS 2023 and will offer various cooperation opportunities for the winner, including prize money and prizes worth RM27,000.
Miss Kimberly Lee, State Director of Miss International Malaysia, stated, “Our main objective is to create awareness and values of tourism in Malaysia. We aim to introduce the famous most-visited tourist places into the pageant and showcase that on a global scale to entice visitors to come and visit our humble home and experience for themselves what Malaysia has to offer.”
During the pageant period, the MIM organization and its contestants will participate in multiple corporate social responsibility activities to develop the social and economic growth of Malaysia’s tourism sector. Additionally, several mini-competitions will be held in search of winners for subsidiary pageant titles announced at the grand finals.
Aspiring beauty queens can audition for MIMS 2023 and win cash and prizes worth up to RM27,000, including an upcoming film production deal, ambassadorship, and gym membership deal with LifenFitness. Eligible candidates include West Malaysian non-Muslim female citizens aged 18 to 28 years old, with a minimum height of 165cm, and who have never been married, divorced, or have children. Applicants must be fluent in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
