GM Klang Wholesale City, in collaboration with the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), raised RM40,000 during the Rioooh Raya Special Charity Sale 2023 programme.
GM Klang presented a donation of RM8,000 to Rumah Amal Kasih Bestari from the funds raised during the event.
Norsuhaida Othman, the Senior Manager of Brand Communications of GM Klang, handed over the donation during the Iftar Jalinan Kasih Yayasan Kita Anak Malaysia event.
GM Klang charity sale programme
The charity sale programme was held at the ground floor lobby of GM Klang from April 7 to 9. The programme involved about 40 students and 19 wholesalers participating in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
The participants sold various raya products such as clothes, bags, fashion accessories, shoes, hijabs, biscuits, and more.
Norsuhaida Othman said, “Indirectly, these students have been exposed by GM Klang wholesalers to business knowledge such as sales and promotion strategies as well as communication with customers.”
Donation to Rumah Amal Kasih Bestari
Norsuhaida said it was hoped the donation would help the residents of the charity house, which is one of the orphanages with the largest number of residents, namely more than 200 orphans.
She also mentioned that GM Klang and UiTM have been collaborating since 2018 on various programmes which benefited the students.
She added, “The special charity sale has attracted more than 10,000 visitors during the three days, and both parties intend to continue this kind of collaboration programme.”
