Residents of the Bukit Gasing constituency in Petaling Jaya are encouraged to participate in the community programs organized by the Bukit Gasing assemblyman’s office for the month of May 2023.
The programs aim to empower women, bridge the digital gap among older residents, promote recycling, and provide opportunities for health screenings and socializing.
Women empowerment program
One of the highlights of the May programs is the Women Empowerment Program, a five-week training course designed for women to learn how to invest, curate their personal financial plans, and lead a healthy lifestyle post-retirement.
The program is open to all women in the Bukit Gasing constituency who are interested in enhancing their financial literacy and building a secure future.

Bukit Gasing smartphone classes
Recognizing that digital literacy is a significant issue among older residents in the Bukit Gasing constituency, the assemblyman’s office is organizing weekly Smartphone Classes to help bridge the digital gap.
The classes will provide basic knowledge and skills to help older residents navigate their smartphones and stay connected to the digital world.
Trash for Cash program in Bukit Gasing
The assemblyman’s office also encourages residents to be environmentally conscious by recycling and turning their trash into cash. In May, the “Trash for Cash” program will provide residents with an opportunity to exchange their recyclable items for cash rewards.
In addition to the Women Empowerment Program, Smartphone Classes, and Trash for Cash, the assemblyman’s office is also organizing a range of other programs for the community.
Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran recently posted on Facebook that these include health screenings, karaoke sessions, Politiko Game Night, Tea Time with the Assemblyman, and many others.
These programs aim to provide opportunities for residents to enhance their skills, socialize with their neighbours, and contribute to a better community.
