Alpro Pharmacy, the largest prescription pharmacy chain in Malaysia, has introduced the Alpro Prestige Scholarship, the first dedicated scholarship for pharmacy students in the country.
This initiative is in collaboration with 20 local universities, both private and public, and aims to support and develop future pharmacists by providing up to RM600,000 per year in sponsorship.
Alpro Pharmacy: Fostering excellence in pharmacy education
The Alpro Prestige Scholarship is a comprehensive 5-year developmental program designed to bridge the gap between education and industrial practice. It offers financial support, mentorship, career-building opportunities, networking, and industry insights to talented individuals who demonstrate a strong passion for serving the community and advancing the pharmacy profession.
The scholarship is open to third-year Pharmacy Degree students who wish to apply. Successful recipients will receive RM20,000 in financial support, distributed equally over their third and fourth years of study.
Upon graduation, they will be guaranteed a placement for Pre-Registration Pharmacist (PRP) training, followed by a job offer as a professional community pharmacist with an exclusive remuneration package.

Professor Habibah A Wahab, representing Majlis Dekan, expressed support for the scholarship, stating that it not only enables recipients to achieve their academic goals but also empowers them to become pharmacy and community leaders. This initiative is expected to make a positive impact on society by nurturing talented individuals who will contribute to the healthcare sector.
Alpro Pharmacy’s decision to establish the Alpro Prestige Scholarship aligns with Goal 4: Quality Education of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
