Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) has announced the opening of ticket sales for its electric train service (ETS) and KTM Intercity, offering commuters the opportunity to make advance plans for their travels.
The sale includes 4.4 million tickets for trips scheduled between July 1 and December 31, catering to various upcoming celebrations and school holidays.
Sale of 4.4 Million Tickets
KTMB is set to sell a total of 1.8 million tickets for its ETS service and 2.6 million tickets for its KTMB Intercity service.
The ticket sales will commence on May 15 at 10 am, providing passengers with the chance to secure their seats for significant events such as Aidiladha, Deepavali, and Christmas celebrations.
Additionally, this enables those planning to visit their hometowns during the school holidays or enjoy a vacation within the country to make advance arrangements.
Additional KTMB ETS from KL Sentral to Padang Besar
KTMB has introduced two extra ETS services for the KL Sentral to Padang Besar route, as well as the return journey. These services will be operational from May 26 to June 5, 2023, coinciding with the first term school holidays and public holidays.
The availability of 6,930 tickets has been announced for this period, providing travellers with convenient options to plan their trips.
KTMB has also launched a special promotional fare of RM10 for the route between Sungai Petani station and Padang Besar station. Passengers can enjoy this promotional offer by using the respective promotion codes.
The code “ETSBERBALOI” is applicable to the ETS Platinum train (KL Sentral-Padang Besar), including trains EP9272, EP9274, and EP9276. For the ETS Gold train (Gemas-Padang Besar), the promotion code “ETSBERBALOIGOLD” applies to train EG9420.
In addition, travellers can take advantage of a 50% travel discount for the Gemas-KL Sentral-Gemas route by using the promotion code “JIMATGEMAS.” This discount is available for ETS trains EG9321, EG9322, EG9420, and EG9425.
The promotional fare is valid from May 15 to December 31, 2023, and can be purchased within 24 hours before the train departs through various channels, including the KTMB Mobile application (KITS), ticket counters, kiosks, and the KTMB website.
