Saujana Residency residents who were directly affected by the proposed ‘station 4’ on the Kelana Jaya LRT extension today submitted an alternative plan to the Selangor MB to suggest realigning the station along the federal highway.
Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh said the concept will be similar to Bangsar LRT station.
“By doing so, the LRT line can re-route to Jalan SS16/2 between Carrefour and Subang Parade before turning right onto Jalan Kemajuan and turn left – back to Jalan Jengka,” she said at a press conference with the residents’ pro-term committee today.
“Moreover, this could allow residents from both SS16 and Glenmarie sides to utilise the facility,” she said.
Pro-term committee member VK Lai said the alternative will meet the predetermined specifications of Prasarana of a 300m length of straight-line LRT gateway before turning and a 120 degree turning radius.
When quizzed about traffic mitigation measures, Lai said they propose to use the green lung buffer zone between the federal highway and the lots opposite the KTM station to build a multi-level car park.
“We also propose to have a covered walkway along Jalan Kemajuan so that the office buildings and the mosque would not be affected,” he said.

The residents of newly-developed Saujana Residency will lose their tennis courts to the building of the proposed station 4, with a barely 4m distance between the station and the nearest residents’ block.
They have urged the authorities and Prasarana to relocate the station elsewhere, seeing the fact that one of the tennis courts also functions as the water retention facility of the building.
After several discussions with stakeholders, Prasarana admitted on July 8 meeting that all test data prior to the decision were done via computer stimulations without any field study and demonstrations.
Prasarana however expressed willingness to amend the station location.
“We submitted the alternative proposal to Prasarana on July 12 and got their response a day later ,saying that they will look into the matter,” Lai said.
Hannah hopes a meeting between residents and Prasarana could be arranged so the residents could present and explain the proposal to the constructor’s engineers.
Prasarana is expected to start the project by year end.
