The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has expressed its gratitude to renowned Indian actor and comedian Yogi Babu, as well as the film crew, for selecting Ipoh as the backdrop for their latest movie.

Recently, Ipoh City Council’s Director of Works and Buildings, Ir. Ts. Arif bin Mohd Zainudin, representing Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin, hosted a warm hi-tea session for the actors and their team, presenting them with souvenirs and fostering camaraderie.

Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin emphasized that this recognition was bestowed upon them in recognition of their efforts to showcase Ipoh City and the state of Perak to a global audience, including India.

Perak state government’s wholehearted support

The Perak state government has extended its full support to the filming project featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu. Recognizing the potential benefits of hosting such productions, the government has gone the extra mile to ensure a smooth and successful shoot.

The production crew, consisting of approximately 90 individuals from India, will be filming in various picturesque locations across Perak. To facilitate the process, the state government has provided extensive assistance, including approvals and permits for shooting in hotspot locations.

Moreover, the crew enjoys discounts of up to 50 per cent on transportation, accommodation, meals, and other logistical requirements.

With over 100 locals joining the production team for a period of more than a month, the collaboration between international and local talents enriches the cultural exchange and strengthens the bond between nations.
