New Balance, in partnership with JD Sports, is thrilled to unveil the New Balance 1906, a shoe that represents the intersection of sport, culture, and style.
To mark this special launch, New Balance enlisted the help of US International and Juventus Footballer Tim Weah, who brought together three global artists to embark on a journey in Boston, the home of New Balance.
Together, they captured the essence of the sleek new colourways of the New Balance 1906 through music, art, and fashion.
A Fusion of sport and culture
Tim Weah, known for his passion for music, culture, and style, was the perfect ambassador for New Balance to unite international talents and celebrate the fusion of sport and culture.
London’s Loyle Carner, hailed as one of the leading voices in British Rap, joined the gathering with his critically acclaimed albums and a massive international fan base. Rising superstar Redveil, from Washington D.C., made a detour from his sold-out tour to connect with the crew in Boston.
The 19-year-old rap phenomenon has gained widespread recognition with his latest EP, “Playing W / Fire.” Completing the trio is Sydney’s A.Girl, a multi-talented RnB singer, songwriter, and rapper who embraces her Māori roots through her unique sound and style.
In Boston, the artists immersed themselves in the vibrant culture and iconic heritage of New Balance. Together with Tim Weah, they celebrated the brand’s journey from 1906 to the present, capturing the essence of sport, style, and self-expression.
The New Balance 1906 – A blend of past and present
The New Balance 1906 pays homage to the brand’s rich heritage and features the latest technology. Named after the year the company was founded in Boston, this late 2000s runner combines classic New Balance design elements with modern innovations.
The 1906 model resonates with the global trend-driven consumer, offering a wearable and stylish option that embraces the aesthetic of the 2000s.
