Jagdev Singh’s journey in the world of rally racing was marked with achievements, partnerships, and an unwavering spirit that earned him respect and admiration across the globe. His story took a somber turn as he was rushed to Subang Jaya Medical Center on July 12, just one day after celebrating his birthday. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the racing icon succumbed to the health battle he was confronting.
News of his passing spread through social media, as a close relative shared the sad news on Singh’s official Facebook account. While grappling with their profound loss, Singh’s family made a heartfelt request for privacy, asking that images of him in the hospital remain private out of respect for his memory.
The funeral service to honor the rally legend’s life and accomplishments is scheduled for today, August 8, 2023, Tuesday, at 1:30 pm. The ceremony will be held at the Kampung Tunku SS1 MBPJ Crematorium following prayers at PJ Gurdawara, Jalan Utara, PJS 52.

He was celebrated as one of Malaysia’s most accomplished rally navigators, renowned for his skill in co-piloting fast cars alongside exceptional drivers on an international level. His partnership with Australian driver Russell Palmer in the 90s captured attention, as the duo showcased their talents not only within Malaysia but also on the global stage. Competing in events like the Hong Kong-Beijing Rally in 1995 and 1996, Singh and Palmer left an indomitable mark.
Notably, Singh joined the Petronas Eon Racing Team (PERT) in 1997, where he served as the navigator for Saladin Mazlan. Colleagues and friends have been pouring in tributes, with Saladin Mazlan expressing his grief on Facebook, stating, “Rest in peace my dearest Jack. Thank you for the memories.”

The duo’s collaboration left an indelible mark on the Malaysian Rally Championship, with Jagdev Singh navigating for Karamjit during his dominant years from 2013 to 2015.
