FST’s historic movie marathon featuring Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ enters records. 27-hour event captivates 600 viewers, celebrates cinema magic.

In a historic achievement that has left fans of Superstar Rajinikanth ecstatic, Five Star Trading (FST) and Lotus Five Star (LFS) Cinemas PJ State have etched their names in the Malaysian Book of Records (MBR) by hosting the longest single movie marathon featuring Rajinikanth’s latest blockbuster, “Jailer.” With a staggering runtime of 26 hours and 59 minutes, this feat marks the first of its kind in the history of Malaysian cinema for a single Tamil movie.

The marathon, which took place at LFS State Cineplex in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, drew a record-breaking crowd of 600 moviegoers. From 11:15 am on August 19 to 11:00 am on August 20, cinephiles immersed themselves in the cinematic world of Rajinikanth’s charismatic screen presence, celebrating his larger-than-life persona.

Expressing his pride and elation, Garuna Murthee, the managing director of FST, emphasized the historical significance of the achievement. The inclusion of Rajinikanth’s new blockbuster, “Jailer,” added an extra layer of distinction to the accomplishment, further solidifying Rajinikanth’s cultural impact.

The recognition came in the form of an official MBR certificate, presented during a simple ceremony held at the LFS State Cineplex in Petaling Jaya. The certificate was awarded to Dr. Sai Suthan, the general manager of FST, by a representative of the Malaysian Book of Records on a Sunday morning.

Dr. Sai Suthan, in his remarks, highlighted the unique experience the marathon provided by screening “Jailer” alongside Rajinikanth’s nostalgic classic, “Baasha.” He expressed his belief that this tandem screening would help audiences rediscover the joy and celebration of communal cinema viewing.

The movie swiftly earned impressive ticket collections worldwide. Within just five days of its Malaysian release, “Jailer” amassed a remarkable RM10 million in box office earnings, as reported by FST.
