Batik Air launches Auckland-Kuala Lumpur route via Perth, offering New Zealanders seamless connections to Bali and beyond.

Batik Air, formerly known as Malindo Air, is embarking on further expansion in the Australasia region by introducing a new route connecting Auckland (AKL) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Malaysia.

The service, operating six times weekly via Perth (PER), Australia, is scheduled to commence on 25 August 2023.

Broadening footprint in Australasia

Batik Air’s launch of the Auckland-Kuala Lumpur route signifies a pivotal stride in the airline’s ongoing endeavour to extend its presence across the Asia Pacific and global markets. The introduction of this new route capitalizes on the strategic significance of Auckland as the gateway to New Zealand.

New Zealanders are set to benefit from this service, enjoying convenient connections via Perth to Bali (DPS), a renowned island paradise. The seamless connectivity extends further, encompassing various Indonesian destinations and beyond, linking Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) hub to Indian Subcontinent, North Asia, and ASEAN countries.

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Group Strategy Director of Batik Air and Lion Group, highlighted the aviation industry’s burgeoning growth, particularly in the Australia-New Zealand regions. Batik Air’s promotional fare offerings on the AKL-KUL route, inclusive of 20kgs baggage allowance for Economy Class and 40kgs for Business Class, make the journey even more appealing.
