Nadarajan attempts longest standing ride in Ladakh, India

Datuk Seri Nadarajan Periasamy aims for a record-breaking ‘Longest Standing Motorcycle Ride in Ladakh’ astride the Royal Enfield Himalayan, covering over 1,400km.

Datuk Seri Nadarajan Periasamy, a renowned superbike rider and holder of multiple records for standing bike rides, is on the verge of a new accomplishment.

He’s embarking on an endeavor to set a record with Kalam’s World Records for the ‘Longest Standing Motorcycle Ride in Ladakh’.

The challenging feat involves covering an astounding distance of over 1,400km while riding the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

A grueling endeavour

Nadarajan’s journey is set to commence on August 27 in Srinagar, India, and will conclude at the same point on September 2. Exuding confidence, he expressed his determination to bring glory to the country through this challenging endeavour during a press conference in Perai on August 23.

Recognizing the immense challenges that Ladakh’s terrain poses, Nadarajan mentioned that he will be accompanied by two local marshals who will serve as guides. Due to the lack of signals in the area, the assistance of these marshals is crucial.

The rugged mountain roads in Ladakh, coupled with unpredictable weather conditions, make for a grueling ride. Nadarajan highlighted that the region’s environment can sometimes shift from its serene state to a more challenging one, akin to a stream-like setting.

Mental strength and dedication

Preparation for this mission involves rising as early as 4.30 in the morning for stamina-building hikes. Nadarajan’s mental resilience shines through as he emphasized his ability to turn negativity into positivity, regardless of external comments.

The driving force behind Nadarajan’s pursuit of remarkable feats in the world of superbikes is rooted in personal tragedy. Following the loss of his only son in 2006, he found motivation in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on two wheels.

Penang’s State Housing and Environment Committee Chairman, Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu, extended his well-wishes for Nadarajan’s success and safety. Sundarajoo noted that Nadarajan’s previous achievements, including a world record for standing bike riding covering a distance of 2,800km, attest to his exceptional capabilities.

Nadarajan’s impending record-setting journey through Ladakh on the Royal Enfield Himalayan embodies the spirit of pushing boundaries and embracing challenges. With his determined mindset and support from local marshals, he’s poised to conquer the difficult terrain and unpredictable weather.

This mission, marked by personal resilience and dedication, holds significance beyond the record itself. It’s a tribute to Nadarajan’s son, an inspiration to the community, and a celebration of the human spirit’s unyielding quest for new horizons.
