IJM introduce Open Payment System for BESRAYA and NPE

IJM Toll Division launches pilot test of Open Payment Toll Collection System (SPT) using credit or debit cards on BESRAYA and NPE highways.

The IJM Toll Division has initiated a pilot test of the Open Payment Toll Collection System (SPT) on the Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA) and Baru Pantai Expressway (NPE) starting today.

This innovative approach aligns with the government’s initiative to expand payment options for highway users beyond conventional methods.

Expanding payment alternatives

Chua Lay Hoon, Chief Operating Officer of IJM Toll Division, emphasized that the pilot test aims to diversify toll payment methods for greater convenience.

The Open Payment Toll Collection System enables road users to pay tolls using debit cards, credit cards, prepaid cards, in addition to existing methods like Touch ‘n Go (TnG), SmartTag, and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).

Lanes dedicated to the SPT system will be clearly marked with distinctive signs on the gantries, facilitating easy identification for motorists. Chua Lay Hoon also advised users to ensure sufficient card balance for seamless toll payment transactions.

Seamless experience for users

Chua Lay Hoon further highlighted the flexibility of the system, noting that if a specific bank card transaction fails, users can utilize other bank cards or TnG cards for payment. This approach ensures a hassle-free experience for highway users, reducing potential inconveniences during their journeys.

The IJM Toll Division’s initiative to introduce the SPT toll open collection system aims to enhance convenience for highway users and simultaneously contribute to the advancement of toll collection technologies.
