MYAirline suspends operations due to financial pressures

MYAirline has regrettably announced the suspension of its operations effective from 12 October 2023 until further notice.

MYAirline announced that it has made decision to suspend its operations effective from 12 October 2023. This suspension is due to significant financial pressures, compelling the airline to halt its services temporarily.

MYAirline’s Board of Directors released a statement expressing their profound regret and apologizing to passengers, employees, and partners for this unfortunate development.

The press statement released today said that the airline had worked diligently to explore various options to prevent this suspension, but the time constraints left them with no alternative.

The airline advises affected passengers not to proceed to the airport and instead seek alternative travel arrangements. MYAirline has set up a support channel through [email protected]. The airline’s support team will be on hand to provide help and guidance.

The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has stepped in to assist customers affected by MYAirline’s suspension. Mavcom has established a dedicated hotline and channels to address consumer concerns.

Part of Mavcom’s instructions to MYAirline includes the obligation to refund consumers who have purchased tickets but are now unable to travel due to the suspension. The airline is also required to notify affected customers and publish the suspension notice through its available communication channels.

Furthermore, MYAirline must cease the sale and booking of flights through all platforms until further notice. Mavcom is actively engaging with MYAirline to address this issue, and they are investigating the airline’s financial matters and unpaid statutory payments to employees.

MYAirline recently have secured an extension to its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). This extension grants MYAirline the authority to continue its operations for an additional two years.
