MYAirline suspension: Batik Air, AirAsia, and Malaysia Airlines steps in

Batik Air, AirAsia, and Malaysia Airlines provide special fares and discounts for MYAirline passengers affected by the suspension.

MYAirline’s suspension of operations has prompted other airlines to step in and offer assistance to affected passengers. Batik Air, AirAsia, and Malaysia Airlines are extending support by providing special fares and discounts for those impacted by the cancellations and rescheduling of MYAirline flights.

Batik Air is offering special one-way fares for affected passengers, including destinations like Penang, Langkawi, Kuching, Don Mueang (Bangkok), and Kota Kinabalu. These fares include all charges and are subject to seat availability.

AirAsia, on the other hand, is providing a 50% discount on base fares for passengers with confirmed bookings to and from selected destinations.

To avail of this offer, affected passengers can present their confirmed MYAirline flight bookings at specific AirAsia sales counters in various airports.

It’s crucial to note that both offers are effective immediately and available until November 30, providing affected passengers with options to make new travel arrangements.

Invitation to MYAirline to collaborate

Malaysia Airlines has also extended an invitation to MYAirline to collaborate in reallocating passengers on Malaysia Airlines’ flights when seats are available.

For passengers with an urgent need to travel, they can visit any Malaysia Airlines ticketing offices in Malaysia and receive a 55% discount on the base fare of their flight tickets on affected routes by presenting their MYAirline tickets. This offer is valid for travel until November 2023.

These offers aim to ease the stress and disruption experienced by affected MYAirline passengers and assist them in reaching their destinations smoothly. The airlines are committed to supporting passengers during this challenging time.

MYAirline made the decision to suspend its operations due to financial constraints, while awaiting changes in the shareholder restructuring and funding of the airline.

In response, the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has established dedicated hotlines and channels to assist passengers affected by MYAirline’s suspension, providing essential support to those impacted by the situation.

Affected passengers can contact Mavcom through the following ways: 

  • Consumer hotline: +1800-18-6966 (within Malaysia), or +603-7651 2777 (outside Malaysia)

  • FlySmart complaint webform: https://flysmart.my/make-a-complaint/
  • FlySmart mobile application that is available for download from the Google Play store for Android users, and the Apple App store for iOS users.

In addition, Mavcom urged customers who have booked flights with MYAirline from Thursday onwards and who are affected by the suspension to reach out to the airline’s special complaint channel for help and inquiries about their bookings at [email protected].
