Licensed by the Malaysian Association of Composers (MACP), “Childhood Revisited” will feature a range of music, from beloved local classics like “Upin & Ipin” to international hits such as “Pokemon,” “Super Mario Bros,” and “Angry Birds.” The audience can also anticipate a captivating Disney classics revue and a delightful anime medley.

A medley of tunes from popular TV series, thoughtfully arranged by Yeo Chow Shern, will include themes from “The Simpsons,” “The Nanny,” “The X-Files,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Friends,” and more. It promises to be a delightful test of recognising these iconic melodies.

Additionally, the klpac Symphonic Band is proud to unveil a commissioned piece titled “Buaian Kenangan” by Malaysian composer Lim Yu-Yao. This composition offers a beautiful glimpse into the Malaysian upbringing experience.

The “Childhood Revisited” concert holds a dual significance. It serves as a prelude to the klpac Symphonic Band’s significant milestone for 2023—their inaugural international tour. A group of 40 band members is set to represent Malaysia at the Chiayi City International Band Festival (CCIBF) in Chiayi, Taiwan.

Cheryl Mah, the Music Director, expressed their excitement, “Our band will be featured at the opening ceremony of CCIBF, and they will perform an outdoor concert, engaging in exchange programmes.
