Anticipation builds for MATTA Fair Penang 2024

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Penang Chapter is wasting no time as they gear up to organise the next MATTA Fair in Penang.

Building on the success of the MATTA Fair Penang 2023, the next event which is scheduled for April 27 and 28 next year is already generating anticipation.

Carolyn Leong, the Penang Chapter chairman, made this announcement during the MATTA Fair Penang 2023 Buyers’ Lucky Draw Prize Presentation ceremony at Lone Pine Hotel, Penang.

MATTA Fair Penang 2023, which recently concluded, drew the attention of approximately 29,000 visitors and achieved a remarkable total sales turnover of RM33 million.

Carolyn expressed her satisfaction, stating that this success stands as a testament to the industry’s strength and potential for growth. She also extended her gratitude to the supporters and sponsors whose contributions were instrumental in making the 2023 fair a triumph

Wong Hon Wai, State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman, praised the MATTA Penang Chapter for its accomplishments. He emphasised MATTA’s pivotal role in enhancing the tourism sector, not just in Penang but across Malaysia.

The Penang government has shown its commitment to supporting MATTA and its activities, resulting in fruitful outcomes over the years. Wong expressed his gratitude to the various contributors from the airlines, cruises, hotels, tourist attractions, and the travel trade who sponsored prizes for the lucky draw

The MATTA Fair Penang 2023 Buyers’ Lucky Draw Prize Presentation ceremony saw over 60 prizes awarded to fortunate winners. The event symbolically distributed airline and cruise ticket prizes to the lucky recipients.

The top main prizes for the lucky draw included a business-class return ticket from Penang to Kuala Lumpur to Narita, provided by Malaysia Airlines, and an economy-class return ticket from Penang to Australia (Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane), sponsored by Qantas Airways.
