HEINEKEN Malaysia proudly announces a groundbreaking milestone as the Tiger Chinese Education Charity Concert (Tiger CECC) concludes with an astounding fundraising record.
The annual programme has not only surpassed its initial 2023 target but has set a new benchmark by raising an extraordinary RM26,354,318.50. This exceptional outcome, fuelled by the generous contributions of concert attendees.
A longstanding initiative since 1994, Tiger CECC has consistently demonstrated its commitment to uplifting Malaysian education and fostering community well-being.
Tiger CECC surpasses fundraising expectations
In a historic feat, HEINEKEN Malaysia’s Tiger CECC programme has achieved a remarkable fundraising result. This exceptional sum, doubling the initial 2023 target, is a testament to the overwhelming support from contributors and the community.
The significant funds raised will play a pivotal role in the upgrade of seven schools, contributing to a positive transformation in educational facilities.
Roland Bala, Managing Director of HEINEKEN Malaysia, expressed profound pride in the community’s generosity, emphasising the programme’s tangible impact on community well-being.
“We know that we can only thrive if our people, the planet and the communities around us thrive. As we stay true to our purpose to Brew the Joy of True Togetherness.
The success of the series echoes our commitment to fostering community well-being and demonstrates the remarkable impact we can achieve when we unite for a shared cause. With that, we are extremely grateful that this year’s results were beyond expectations,” he added.
Expanding support to UTAR Hospital
This year marked a significant expansion for the Tiger CECC programme, reaching beyond schools to extend support to UTAR Hospital in Kampar.
This strategic move aligns with the programme’s commitment to holistic community development, benefitting local residents and contributing to the growth of medical students.
The profound impact of the programme resonated across various institutions, including Nan Hwa High School, SJKC Chio Min A&B, SJKC Mentakab (2), SJKC Damansara, SJKC Yu Ming, SMJK Chan Wa, and SJKC Kheng Chee.
The success of this year’s Tiger CECC reinforces its pivotal role as a catalyst for positive change in Malaysian education, extending its influence beyond traditional educational settings.
As Tiger CECC wraps up another year of resounding success, its enduring legacy in shaping Malaysian education stands tall. For nearly three decades, the programme has been instrumental in funding over 540 local schools, amassing more than RM407 million since its inception in 1994.
Standout performances by top artists, including Freddie and the Catz, Chris Cheong, Wu Jia Hui, Yee Yee, Victor Lee, Z Yan, Zac Chi Chiang, Jyin, and Victor Lee, have been crucial in maintaining vibrant energy across all eight shows.
A notable highlight is SMJK Chan Wa’s exceptional achievement, raising a groundbreaking RM9.37 million, setting a historic record for an individual school in Tiger CECC’s history.
