Jazro Robotic Academy (JAZRO) has successfully concluded RoboBlitz 2023, a robotic soccer competition held in collaboration with Pearl Point Shopping Mall.
The event, which ran from November 24th to 26th, attracted an impressive 1057 participants from primary and secondary schools across various states including Putrajaya, Selangor, Terengganu, and Johor.
RoboBlitz 2023 – A Record-Breaking Event
RoboBlitz 2023 was not just an event to entertain, but a platform to create awareness about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among school children, parents, and teachers.
The event was executed in a vibrant and enjoyable manner, attracting a record-breaking 1057 participants. This achievement has earned RoboBlitz 2023 a place in the Malaysia Book of Records as the “Most Participants in a RoboSoccer Competition.”
The closing ceremony of RoboBlitz 2023 was held last Sunday afternoon and was officiated by Teresa Kok Suh Sim, Member of Parliament for Seputeh.
The event also saw the presence of Norfadzilah Binti Rosdi, Chief Assistant Director of Selangor Education Department’s Student Development Sector, and representatives from Pearl Point Shopping Mall.
Partnerships and future prospects
Ir. Dzulfarqeish Zainuddin, CEO of JAZRO, expressed his pleasure with the event, stating, “RoboBlitz 2023 exceeded our expectations, bringing joy to participants, parents, and teachers alike.
Our partnership with Pearl Point Shopping Mall has been exceptional. Echoing this sentiment, Darrell Choy, General Manager of Pearl Point Shopping Mall and Pearl Shopping Gallery, said, “Hosting RoboBlitz 2023 with JAZRO was a pleasure. We are thrilled to contribute to the development of young talents in the STEM field.”
The winners of the competition walked away with a total cash prize of RM8,800 sponsored by Pearl Point Shopping Mall.
In addition to the main robotic soccer competition, the three-day event also featured other enjoyable activities, including Robomission, Education Innovation, and Family Games. A workshop on robotic coding was also held.
RoboBlitz 2023 has set a new benchmark for robotic soccer competitions in Malaysia. The overwhelming community response has encouraged JAZRO to organise more such competitions in the future to engage an even larger community in STEM activities.
As Ir. Dzulfarqeish remarked, “The community response was overwhelming, and JAZRO looks forward to organising more similar competitions in the future to engage hopefully an even larger community in STEM activities.”
