The arts scene in Malaysia experienced a resounding success in 2023, with klpac hosting 134 shows and events, indicating a robust demand for the arts and live performances post-pandemic.
Now, as the anticipation continues, klpac unveils its programme highlights for 2024, inviting the public of all ages to engage with the arts throughout the year.
TAS Academy @ klpac Open Day 2024
klpac kicks off the year with the TAS Academy @ klpac Open Day on January 20 and 21, 2024. The event offers free trial classes, theatre tours, and more.
Parents can explore the well-loved Speech and Drama programme for children aged 3 to 18, while adults can participate in trial classes like Hatha Yoga in the Park and Body Ache Relief.
The Open Day also features teaser classes such as Improv Fundamentals, Contemporary Dance, and Modern Dance. Special rebates of RM20 are available for those signing up during the Open Day
The facilitators include Tung Jit Yang from NYU’s Tisch School of Arts, Zhafir Muzani known for Oh My English!, and Nicholas Low.

Ready for the action!
For those aspiring to tread the boards, the Academy offers the 10-week Acting Foundations course by Omar Ali, starting January 13.
Designed for beginners, Omar Ali is known for his patient guidance and practical insights. Another January offering is Contemporary Dance I by Zhafir Muzani.
Future courses include Empowering Wellness: Hatha Yoga, Improv Fundamentals, Modern Dance for All, Malay Gamelan for Adults, and Cantonese Opera Workshop.
klpac’s show programming kicks off in March 2024 with a tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, on the 15th anniversary of his passing by The klpac Symphonic Band.
The diverse 2024 lineup includes classic tales, musical performances, sketch comedy, and festivals.
