In celebration of its 30th anniversary, The Datai Langkawi has undergone a remarkable transformation, unveiling an interactive exhibition titled ‘The Grandeur of Monochrome Malaysia.’

Renowned Malaysian photographer SC Shekar’s black and white limited-edition photographs adorn the corridors, providing a unique perspective on Langkawi’s natural beauty.

The exhibition serves a dual purpose—igniting discussions on environmental preservation and raising funds for Langkawi‘s conservation efforts.

SC Shekar’s photographic series, captured through daring aerial shots from helicopters, showcases Langkawi’s ancient rainforests, majestic mountains, waterfalls, and mangrove forests.

The thematic arrangement along the resort’s corridors offers viewers a profound connection with Malaysia’s natural wonders, including the Gunung Machinchang rock formation and the UNESCO-listed Kilim Karst Geoforest Park.

This interactive element aligns with the exhibition’s goal of promoting environmental wellbeing, wildlife conservation, and the local community of Langkawi.

SC Shekar, the official photographer of The Datai Pledge, collaborated with Irshad on this initiative, reflecting their shared passion for conservation.

All photographs from ‘The Grandeur of Monochrome Malaysia’ are available for purchase, with 100 percent of the proceeds directed to The Datai Pledge, supporting conservation endeavours in Langkawi.
