RXP.KL elevates art with Danny Rose Studio
The showcase, opening its doors on 9th February 2024, will feature an immersive audio and visual experience within RXP.KL’s projection-mapped room.
Sebastien Jurkowski, Co-founder of RXP.KL, expressed the innovative nature of the exhibition, stating, “We have set out to design something that has never been built before – a vast installation in a heritage landmark to house the burgeoning demand for experiential attractions.”
The exhibits, “Piying Dream” and “Matter of Painting,” by Danny Rose Studio, renowned for attracting over 5 million visitors worldwide, promise to engage enthusiasts on a personal level, creating a dynamic dialogue between art and observer.
Chinese shadow puppets in digital wonderland
“Piying Dream” offers an unprecedented digitally animated showcase of Chinese shadow puppetry.
Drawing upon over 3,000 masterfully crafted shadow puppets from the Qing Dynasty to today, this immersive experience showcases a cherished art form listed under the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2011.
The exhibition weaves together iconic design motifs and vibrant colours from authentic artefacts, promising wonder and cheer during the Chinese New Year festive season.
Iconic characters from classic Chinese literature, mythical creatures, and traditional pavilions shatter conventional portrayals, complemented by an original Chinese musical score for a riveting audio-visual experience.
“Matter of Painting” redefines contemporary art
“Matter of Painting” provides a different experience, drawing inspiration from Action Paintings in 1950s New York City.
The immersive theatre transforms into a captivating canvas where an “invisible digital artist” explores a myriad of colours and textures, unfolding like a live painting performance.
The constantly morphing contemporary art installation delivers a sculptural dimension, changing perceptions of volume and depth.
Sebastien Jurkowski anticipates that both exhibits will “bend minds, inspire creativity, and touch hearts” with their unique blend of technology and art.
The 1-hour exhibition is now open, with early bird tickets available until 4th February. Prices range from RM25 for children below 12 to RM60 for adults, offering a diverse range of ticket options.
From 5th February onwards, regular tickets will be available, promising an unparalleled artistic journey that sets a new standard for immersive art experiences in Malaysia.
“Piying Dream” and “Matter of Painting” by Danny Rose Studio at RXP.KL’s Temple of Light are expected to be landmark events, leaving visitors awe-struck with profound emotional responses.
