FRUSTRATED by the delay in his project due to opposition from the neighbours, Datuk Theng Book lashed out at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) for practising double-standards.
In January last year, a group of SS12 residents in Subang Jaya protested against the development of 16 townhouses in a bungalow lot, which belongs to Theng.
A stop-work order was issued and Theng was forced to put the project on hold.
He claimed that he lost money in the process as he had to pay penalty to the consultant engaged.
While stressing that he had complied with all requirements and was given a one-year development order based on the compliance, Theng recently produced proof that his neighbours have been flouting the law but the council did not take any action on them.
The Puchong MCA division vice-chairman claimed that one of his neighbours in Jalan SS12/2 has a bungalow built on one-and-a-half lots of land with separate titles, and had not been paying his assessment rates for about 20 years.
