Perak aims to enhance its tourism sector with the launch of 3,920 #PromisingPerak tourism vouchers as part of the Visit Perak 2024 campaign.
This initiative, involving key players in the Perak tourism industry, aims to boost tourist spending and encourage more visitors to explore the diverse attractions of the state.
Vouchers cater to diverse tourist needs and budgets
Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee of Perak, highlighted the significance of these tourism vouchers during the launch event.
The vouchers, categorised into three types with values of RM30 for tourism products, RM70 for accommodation, and RM150 for tourism packages, aim to provide financial incentives for tourists to choose Perak as their preferred destination.
“The approach by Tourism Perak is aimed at encouraging more tourists to visit Perak,” Loh Sze Yee stated, emphasizing the strategic importance of such initiatives in promoting Perak as a vibrant and attractive tourist destination.
This move follows a similar incentive programme implemented in 2020 to support industry players affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tourism Perak website guides tourist to voucher partner
The initiative, scheduled from February 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, involves collaboration with 65 players in the Perak tourism industry, including travel agencies, tourism product operators, and hotel operators.
The Tourism Perak Management Berhad anticipates that these special tourism vouchers will open new avenues for industry players to increase income and promote their products in both domestic and international markets.
Nurmalis Musa, CEO of Tourism Perak Management Bhd, provided insights into the eligibility criteria for the voucher rebates during a press conference.
She explained that tourists spending a minimum of RM500 on a single receipt for a tour package can qualify for a RM150 rebate, given they stay for three days and two nights. Participating hotels will offer a RM70 discount for a minimum one-night stay.
Furthermore, Nurmalis highlighted specific attractions like Kellie’s Castle or Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No 5, where families can save RM30 on ticket purchases.
The detailed information about all participating operators is made available on the Tourism Perak website, ensuring transparency and accessibility for interested individuals.
The implementation of the #PromisingPerak tourism vouchers is a strategic move by Perak to not only boost the local tourism industry but also provide attractive incentives for visitors.
This initiative aligns with the broader Visit Perak 2024 campaign, showcasing Perak’s commitment to becoming a top tourist destination. Tourists are encouraged to take advantage of these vouchers, explore the rich offerings of Perak, and contribute to the success of Visit Perak 2024.
