Actiforce Mechatronics Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the Hettich Group, officially opened its new RM50 million manufacturing facility in Bukit Minyak on March 5, 2024.

The company, originating from the Netherlands is part of Germany’s Hettich Group, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of furniture fittings.

With nearly 22 years of operation in Penang, Actiforce has been manufacturing and distributing ergonomic furniture globally.

This 13,000 sq ft plant boasts cutting-edge technology like robotic welding and Trumpf machinery, designed to revolutionise production processes.

The expansion also positions the plant as a hub for research and development.

Actiforce’s new facility is strategically designed to serve international markets, particularly Europe and the United States.

With an anticipated revenue of RM148 million in 2024, 99% is projected to come from exports.

The opening ceremony was graced by Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang.

He highlighted Penang’s well-developed industrial ecosystem and its commitment to supporting companies embracing next-generation technologies.

He expressed optimism that Actiforce would thrive in “Penang, the Silicon Valley of the East.”

Dato’ Loo Lee Lian, Chief Executive Officer of InvestPenang, emphasized Penang’s position as the top investment destination in Malaysia for 2023, attracting RM71.9 billion in investments.

This figure surpasses other major states like Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Dato’ Loo further elaborated on Penang’s exceptional performance in the manufacturing sector.
