Lingling set to capture hearts in K-Pop’s I-LAND 2

Malaysian talent Lingling aims to make history as Malaysia’s first K-Pop idol, joining I-LAND 2, sparking excitement in the K-Pop scene

After the emergence of Alyssa, another Malaysian talent is set to grace the screens of the highly anticipated survival program in Korea. Mnet has recently unveiled the lineup for the second season of the reality survival show “I-LAND”, and amidst the contestants, one name stands out — Lingling from Malaysia.

Following the success of forming the globally renowned boy group ENHYPEN in its first season, I-LAND 2 is already generating buzz with its diverse pool of contestants. Out of the 24 hopefuls, 16 are Korean, 6 are Japanese, and one has both Japanese and Korean heritage. Breaking the mold is 18-year-old Malaysian trainee, Wong Lingling, who is poised to make her mark on the K-Pop scene.

Lingling, born on April 20, 2005, has already showcased her linguistic prowess by choosing #PolyglotGenius as one of her hashtags on her I-LAND 2 profile. Fluent in Korean, she is also reportedly proficient in Chinese and English, the latter being widely spoken in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, her profile photo on the official I-LAND 2 Instagram account boasts over 20,000 likes, proving her growing popularity even before the show’s premiere.
