Ipoh Parade transformed into a vibrant celebration of cosplay with its highly anticipated “Cosplay Party 4.0.”
The event, held alongside the larger Haru Matsuri festival, attracted over 300 cosplayers from across the country.
Diverse characters captivate audience
Participants, from various walks of life, brought their favorite characters to life with elaborate costumes and makeup.
Despite their diverse backgrounds, a sense of community and shared passion for cosplay filled the venue.
Iconic figures like Genshin Impact’s Furina and Star Wars’ Anakin Skywalker mingled with playful Sun Wu Kong from Journey to the West, captivating the audience and enthusiastic photographers.
Special appearances by celebrities Victoria Wey and MC Leo further amped up the excitement, creating a memorable experience for fans and participants alike.
Fiercely contested cosplay competition
The highlight of the event was the highly competitive Cosplay Competition.
Muhammad Muzzammil Afif Bin Mohd Hamidi, also known as Feefcoser, emerged victorious with his impressive portrayal of Charlotte Katakuri from the popular video game One Piece.
Afif’s portrayal, including a muscular suit to replicate the character’s physique, impressed both the judges and the audience, securing him a top prize of RM1,500 in cash and prizes.
A panel of esteemed judges, including Frankie aka Liben, King Angel 天王, and Crazed Jokers, commended the exceptional talent displayed throughout the competition.
The 1st and 2nd runner-up positions were secured by Chan Yew Chyi (21) and Yip Khong Chen (28) respectively.
Chan’s portrayal of Taki Tachibana from the heartwarming film “Your Name” resonated with the audience, while Yip’s Yunjin from Genshin Impact impressed with her intricate costume and dance moves.
Both runners-up received significant cash prizes and other rewards.
