Air Selangor calls for public support in Box of Hope initiative

Air Selangor continues its noble mission to aid underprivileged families with the Box of Hope food basket initiative and calls upon the public to join hands in this endeavor. Since its inception in 2020, approximately 5,275 basic food baskets have been distributed to needy families across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.

In a recent Facebook post on Monday (April 8), Air Selangor reiterated the importance of every contribution, emphasizing the tangible difference it makes in the lives of those in need.

The Box of Hope initiative, an integral part of Air Selangor’s Sesama Mara corporate social responsibility program, aims to alleviate the burden of the B40 community by providing essential food items. Launched amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative has been a beacon of hope for many families grappling with the escalating cost of living.

Empowering the B40 Community

To facilitate contributions, Air Selangor has introduced a digital platform, allowing individuals to donate online through the initiative’s website (www.airselangor.com/boxofhope). This initiative streamlines the process, eliminating the need for physical visits to designated distribution centers, which are primarily located at select Village Grocer outlets.

Those willing to contribute can donate essential food items such as flour, rice, canned goods, powdered milk, and oil. The collaboration with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM) ensures that donations reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently.

While digital donations are encouraged, the option for physical purchases of essential items remains available at five designated Box of Hope Village Grocer locations. These include Tamarind Square Cyberjaya, MyTown Cheras, 1 Mont Kiara, I-City Mall Shah Alam, and Melawati Mall Ampang. Furthermore, plans are underway to expand the network of distribution centers for added convenience.
