Sunway Medical Centre (SMC) has cemented its position as a leader in Malaysian healthcare by securing two prestigious accolades at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2024.
This marks the third consecutive year SMC has been named “Hospital of the Year (Malaysia)”.
Recognition for innovation and community service
The award acknowledges SMC’s unwavering commitment to innovation, setting new benchmarks in healthcare delivery, and making impactful contributions to the community.
Dr. Seow Vei Ken, Chief Executive Officer of SMC, expressed his gratitude to the medical centre’s team for their collective contribution to this achievement.
“Our team’s unwavering dedication to patient care fuels our pursuit of excellence,” Dr. Seow said.
“This recognition from a distinguished organization for the third consecutive year signifies not only our successes but also our enduring commitment to exceptional healthcare.”
Continued growth at Sunway Medical Centre
Dr. Seow emphasized that the award serves as a stepping stone for further growth.
“We are determined to reach even greater heights in providing top-tier healthcare services to the community. This award is particularly significant as we celebrate our 25th anniversary this year,” he added.
This latest accomplishment follows a series of recent honors for SMC, including being named among the top 250 hospitals globally in the Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals 2024 rankings – a first for a Malaysian hospital.
The hospital also holds accreditations from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH).
Established in 1999, SMC has grown to become the largest private quaternary hospital in Malaysia.
With 724 licensed beds and expertise in over 60 specialties, SMC boasts 28 Centres of Excellence and a multidisciplinary team exceeding 3,500 healthcare and hospitality professionals dedicated to providing personalised and holistic patient care.
